This was easy for me. I am not a fan of the annual ritual of April Fool’s “jokes” pulled every year on April 1st. I haven’t been on Facebook today, but pretty sure the usual April Fools joke memes that often taken as serious by people who forget what today is. Don’t be surprised by how many April Fool’s memes will be taken as real today. I updated my earlier post – Join Our Discover Daily Prompts in April! — The Daily Post with today’s prompt.
I have some question if we should joke while the world is in the midst of COVID-19? My response is it depends on the joke. Some of my posts and re-blogs lately have been humorous, I see some authors wanting to do COVID-19 books to take advantage of the pandemic. My recommendation is to wait and see how bad it turns out before doing so. It’s one thing to do a historical perspective, but quite another to do a tragic romance based on it. You are more likely to alienate more potential readers with the second book than the first one.
We don’t know how bad this pandemic will turn out to be; seeing estimated U. S. deaths in the 80,000 – 200,000 range. I expect the deaths will spike this month as too many people are still not taking COVID-19 seriously.
