FamilyTree DNA Update – DNA Saturdays February 15, 2020

I missed this in my earlier post – FamilyTree DNA Price Reductions for the New Year – January 14, 2020. I only noticed it today when I was visiting https://cruwys.blogspot.com/2020/01/new-lower-pricing-structure-at.html. Thought this was important enough to include as this week’s DNA Saturdays post.

I didn’t notice FamilyTree DNA (FTDNA) had removed Y-25 (still available through projects for now) and Y-67 (available as an upgrade only if you have a lower level Y-DNA test; don’t know how long it will be available this way) from the list as well as the mtDNA Plus test.

FTDNA is one of a few companies that offer deep Y-DNA and mtDNA testing. Another company is YSEQ.nethttps://www.yseq.net/. YSEQ offers several options for Y-DNA and mtDNA testing. You get basic Y-DNA and mtDNA haplogroups if you test with LivingDNA and 23andMe, but they aren’t as deep as what you can order from FTDNA and YSEQ. With Full Genomeshttps://www.fullgenomes.com/ you can get deep Y-DNA and mtDNA results. There are a few other companies that do deep Y-DNA and mtDNA testing, but those are generally more expensive than the ones I mentioned above most of the time.
