7,000-year-old Native American burial site found off Florida – Archaelogy World

I came across this yesterday on Facebook: 7,000-year-old Native American burial site found off Florida – https://www.archaeology-world.com/7000-year-old-native-american-burial-site-found-off-florida/

Seeing a 7,000-year-old site that is so well preserved in the Gulf of Mexico is awe-inspiring,”

–snip–

In a Florida State Department press release, Mr. Duggins said, “We are truly humiliated* by this experience.

*Seems someone needs to proofread their work as an earlier article had humbled, not humiliated (see below).

In doing some more checking, I found this article from February 2018: https://news.nationalgeographic.com/2018/02/florida-native-american-indian-burial-underwater/.

Another article which correctly quotes Duggins: https://www.sciencealert.com/divers-locate-7-000-year-old-burial-site-hidden-underwater-florida-coast-native-american-manasota-key

“We are truly humbled by this experience,” Duggins explained in a statement (link broken).
