For a long time I had never been the first to back a Kickstarter campaign. One day I noticed a Facebook post that was several hours old announcing a new Kickstarter campaign. When I checked on it, the number of backers was 0, as in none. So, I made a very small pledge. Imagine my surprise when shortly afterwards Kickstarter sent me a note that I was now a First Backer. I had not heard of this category before. Basically, it means they send me occasional, weekly in general, e-mails as a First Backer that non-First Backers don’t get.
Today I got an e-mail as a First Backer about the 6th Most Funded Kickstarter – https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/peak-design/travel-tripod-by-peak-design was ending soon; it ends Thursday, July 18 2019 7:00 PM CDT. Kicktraq: http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/peak-design/travel-tripod-by-peak-design/. Here are the details: $10,590,823 23,650 backers.
By 6th most funded, I am guessing by the amount over the campaign goal as this link, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-funded_crowdfunding_projects, doesn’t list it, but it should be around #42 on that list as of its present pledge level. It’s also not listed at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kickstarter#Top_projects_by_funds_raised, but it would be in 6th place on that list. Most likely it hasn’t been added either place on Wikipedia yet.
