Every time I go into the store I am paying more for the same items than I did the time before. I am paying more and more and getting less and less each time. I never paid all that much attention to it before because the rising prices seemed small and incremental. But now they are HUGE and are very noticeable.

One way suppliers handle this is called shrinkflation. They reduce the size of an item by a set amount and charge the same price. I realized this about a decade ago when I noticed some food items were slightly smaller in size than they used to be.
