Biscuits and gravy, they’re not just a Southern breakfast staple. The meal is a filling, hearty and delicious one. Luckily, it is also very, very easy to make. And if you don’t mind using canned biscuits sometimes, there are plenty of recipes that can have you chowing down in 30 minutes or less.

Let’s kick off with the classics. The Food Network’s Ree Drummond has a recipe that goes over all of the steps to making delicious biscuits and sausage gravy, right down to the amount of sausage grease to use. It also teaches basics for gravy-making that will allow you to make other recipes on this list, so if you haven’t made homemade gravy before, this recipe is a great place to start. This variant on biscuits and gravy is served with sausages in patty form, not interspersed in the gravy, so it’s perfect for people looking for a big, hearty breakfast in about 25 minutes. Fry up some eggs in the leftover grease with the five extra minutes you have, and you’ll have yourself a breakfast that will be envied by all of your Instagram followers. Find the full recipe here, via thepioneerwoman.com.
