Update on Eye Surgery – September 4, 2021

I mentioned eye surgery earlier – Surgery Was at 1:45 P. M. Today – September 1, 2021. I saw the surgeon on September 2nd. My near vision is pretty bad right now. It’s expected to stay bad for a couple of weeks and improve over time. My distance vision, 10 – 20 feet js great. Without glasses, I can see in that range great. It’s amazing that I can see a lot better than before the surgery in that range. I can read a stop sign at a block and half away. That’s a major improvement than before the surgery and even before I developed cataracts.

On the temporary downside is having to squint to read my laptop or phone. The good news is I can generally enlarge both devices to see what I am not seeing. I typically don’t enlarge my laptop as it’s more trouble than it’s worth.

For my bad eye, I will get the surgery to remove the cataract although I don’t see it improving enough to make a difference. The plus side is it won’t interfere with my good eye as the bad eye is not a problem.

I an still wearing a hat as sunlight bothers my eye for now. The hat blocks much of the sunlight so I don’t get direct exposure on the left eye.
