Really didn’t want to upgrade, but since both cell phone companies were purchased by two different companies that require GSM phones. I didn’t have a choice as my existing phones were CDMA. The TracFone deal hasn’t been officially approved yet by the federal government, but is expected to get approved later this year. Tello should change over by the end of this month.
With TracFone, it’s a Pay As You Go (PAYGO) phone where I needed to get a new phone anyway as my talk, text, and data expired early next month. It’s cheaper for me to use HSN or a similar website as I get 365 days added to the expiration date and it only costs me slightly more than buying the phone locally. It also saves me over $120 as local stores tend to charge for the 365 day refill at that rate on top of the phone.
The new phones have their own quirks and I installed a few apps I found useful – Zedge: Zedge App Review – January 18, 2019. I installed Cooking Fever, but it always start me at level 1 when I install on a new phone. At least I installed it on my Tello phone so at some point it will sync as I was logged into Google Play when I installed it. I will try using the Mobile Hotspot on both phones to see if I can play Cooking Fever on my old TracFone. It’s a case of where I lose the extra free gems if I can’t use the old TracFone. Once the Tello phone syncs with Google Play, it takes about 5 days if I can’t play to keep the streak going.
