I wasn’t expecting to receive my Tello phone as the last time I checked it wasn’t supposed to ship until next week or the week after. When I get the text it was delivered today, I raced home to put it in the house before some porch pirate grabbed it. Never had that happen, but I knew the package was put in my mailbox and it was wide enough to be a tempting target.
I should be receiving the TracFone in the near future. I went with ordering it from HSN as ordering it there I receive 1,500 Talk minutes, 1,500 texts, and 1,500 MB cheaper than if I ordered it locally. Locally, I would pay a bit less for the phone, maybe $10 minus state and local sales taxes, and have to purchase the talk, text, and database separately for around $120 on top of the cell phone cost. Plus, it adds 365 days to the expiration date as my TracFone is Pay As You Go (PAYGO) as opposed to a regular billing cycle plan. The only disadvantage is activating is a bit harder than if I purchased it through a TracFone retailer. For me, the savings are worth the minor inconvenience of activating it. I don’t use the extra insurance for either phone as I tend to replace the TracFone yearly.
