Too Many Authors Want to Publish Autobiographies – March 9, 2021

Not only do many want to publish autobiographies, but they expect to be picked up by the handful of traditional publishers out there. Some are going the self-published route. My response is unless you are rich, famous, or a celebrity, you are probably not going to be picked up by a traditional publisher. You can self-publish, but I doubt you will see many book sales unless you fall in the rich, famous, or celebrity categories.

I recently picked up a free ebook yesterday on Amazon by someone doing the self-published route. I haven’t started reading it yet. Let’s just say it’s not something I would normally read, but I picked it free. I will give it a go. I will start with the back blurb. I read what the author mentioned in his short introduction to the book. I will probably skim it as the author makes some wild claims in the book. I usually don’t take such claims seriously and am unlikely to take the author at his word.

    I think there are too many people that might think they have something to say…in general not just with autobios but also with everything else
