Why Did My Ancestors Immigrate to the United States in the Mid-1800s? — The Family Kalamazoo.

My mother’s patrilineal line migrated many years ago to this country. I don’t know why. Based on the above, I am guessing it was religious freedom as they settled in the Netherlands and were likely persecuted for their faith as they weren’t not members of a main religion in the country.
