Billionaire “bond king” Bill Gross was ordered Wednesday to stop playing loud music for three years and stay away from his neighbors in Laguna Beach, Calif., the Los Angeles Times reported. Gross had been blaring the theme from “Gilligan’s Island” on his outdoor speakers.

Gross, 76, is worth $1.5 billion, according to Forbes estimates, turning his neighborly dispute with millionaire tech entrepreneur Mark Towfiq into a richly-contested legal case.
The dispute began as a rich man’s war. Gross installed a blown glass sculpture by renowned artist Dale Chihuly in his yard in April, and then put a net over it, the Times reported. Towfiq, who could see the net and sculpture from his own yard, asked Gross to take it down and, when he refused, filed a city permit complaint.
Laguna Beach hit Gross with a violation notice July 28, and then things got petty, according to the L.A. Times. Combining brand-new outdoor speakers with annoying tactics old as time, Gross started blasting the “Gilligan’s Island” theme and other music at Towfiq’s house.
