Forgiving Others – Forgiveness Sundays December 20, 2020

Going to be hard as I am dealing with a laptop that is dying. Trying to get this finished before it dies completely. We have troubles in life, like my dying laptop. I am hoping I can use one of the old laptops if I can find the cord for it. I am not at home right now and won’t be for a while. I believe everything happens for a reason, including my dying laptop. I will be praying to see what I need to learn from this lesson.

With forgiveness, I find forgiving others is important. In a social media group recently, I saw where some were saying don’t forgive others. I disagree. You should forgive others, but also recognize when it is time to cut someone out of your life. Forgiveness is about you, not the other person. I know people who never forgive others and are miserable. Some appear outwardly like the are not miserable, but it doesn’t mean they are not miserable.

I read an article about a well-known actor when he was younger, he was very unforgiving. He held petty grudges for decades. As he got older, he mellowed and started forgiving others. I am not going to mention his name as he died a while back. I didn’t know this about him until reading the article. I am glad he decided to start forgiving others and stop holding grudges. I don’t know how easy it was for him to reach this point, but I believe something happened that made him understand that forgiveness was about him and not other people.
