Congress Reaches Deal on Stimulus Package – Chicago Tribune December 20, 2020

I saw a few hours ago that Congress reached a deal on a stimulus package – https://www.chicagotribune.com/coronavirus/ct-nw-second-stimulus-check-updates-20201220-dar2xz4jqraixne7thifpe5fpi-story.html.

It’s for $600 stimulus checks instead of the earlier $1,200 checks from the last stimulus package. President Trump should sign in the next day or two although it could happen sooner.

If you have direct deposit on file with the IRS, you will get as soon as they are given the green light and start doing direct deposits. That could happen fast although with Christmas approaching, it could be delayed due to the government being closed for Christmas and the weekend.
