I thought it was an important message as well. I was bullied as a child due to wearing the thick Coke-bottle lens and the black ugly frames for glasses. I was also skinny. I definitely relate to the issue. I finally stood up for myself and while I got beat up a few times, most of the bullies realized by standing up, I wasn’t going to take it anymore.
There were a few bullies who used words, but most realized I was smart and might be able to get back at them in ways they couldn’t stop, it tapered off significantly. I never let on I was smart, but people talk and it mostly stopped. The words I let slide off me.
