Happy 245th Birthday Field Artillery and Air Defense Artillery – November 17, 2020

I saw on the U. S. Army website https://history.army.mil/html/faq/branches.html that today was the 245th Birthday of the Field Artillery; the site lists the same birthday for the Air Defense Artillery. The Air Defense Artillery, previously Coast Artillery, was established by the Army on June 14, 1968. The Coast Artillery was recommended as early as 1882 although it didn’t start until February 1901.
