Wichita City Council Member Tests Positive for COVID-19 – November 7, 2020

I saw a bit ago that a Wichita City Council member tested positive for COVID-19 https://www.kwch.com/2020/11/07/wichita-mayor-city-council-now-in-quarantine-after-member-tests-positive-for-covid-19/; the other City Council members, Mayor, and City Manager are under quarantine until November 18th. Other city staff members are also under quarantine. This includes my City Council member. Here’s to a speedy recovery for all who have been exposed or infected. No word on if any of the others have tested positive, but as they tend to sit about 6 feet apart and not wear masks I wondered how long before one of them caught COVID-19. I hoped and prayed none of them would. It sounds like they will use online meeting software to hold meetings until they are out of quarantine.

People need to realize they aren’t immune to catching COVID-19. I am out in public enough, but generally wear a mask where I can’t guarantee social distancing. When I voted the other day, I wore a mask to vote. The poll workers all wore masks, but about half the voters weren’t wearing masks.
