Not sure how it happened as I don’t use the Classic Editor block for posting. Yet, several posts that I copied are showing the Classic Editor block. If I delete the block, the copied blocks all get deleted. It took me a while to figure a workaround. I was able to find an earlier post where it didn’t have the Classic Editor block show up. If that’s not weird enough, with the Classic Editor block in place, I would see in the copied post, missing blocks that I might be able to restore somewhat. When I view the posts without trying to copy them, the missing blocks are present. They also tend to show up as HTML and not preview. When I switch them to preview, I can’t change anything and I don’t know about HTML to mess with trying to change it.
This only started happening today. With most of my theme posts, I tend to do a copy post and remove the old information to replace with the new information. As I don’t use the Classic Editor block, I still haven’t figured out how it showed up. Probably one of those weird things a Happiness Engineer would say I did something wrong or they are seeing it as it should be seen.
When I do posts, most of them are the new Block Editor with a few Quote Blocks. At times, I may go the Bullet Point or List Block if I have no option or way around using either choice. For re-blogs, I tend to use the re-blog option. That’s gotten better as I had to try and Like a post if there was an option to Like it. Otherwise, I would have to do half dozen or more re-blogs before I was able to see the snippet of text that should show up. Thankfully, that issue has been resolved so I can usually do a re-blog without having to do so many attempts. Makes me wonder if the solution caused the new quirk. I wonder if this is some new thing being done by WordPress or a new bug that was introduced when they were working on something else.
Hopefully, the new quirk will disappear soon. It wasn’t an issue yesterday, but showed up today. Seems I also lost the ability to have the full edit bar on the handful of posts that I used to have it show up. Minor inconvenience as I remove the URL or simply delete the URL and replace it with a new URL.
