I received several texts today. I didn’t read them initially, but thought I hadn’t ordered anything recently. Once I read them, it was indicating my DNA sample should arrive where I sent it by October 24th. It wasn’t scanned until late this afternoon although it was picked up this morning.
It will probably take at least 4 weeks before I get results once the DNA sample arrives at the lab. I entered the Tracking Code before I dropped it off in the mail. That way I can track it on its way.
I always warn people not to put much stock in the Health results as few genealogical DNA companies test enough markers to give good results. In my v3 chip results, they estimated wrong on several things. They tend to go with percentages when determining if you are at risk for a specific medical condition, how you will react to specific foods, or other traits. I have a copy of my v3 results I downloaded recently and want to see how they compare to the v5 results. To see the full comparison results, I would have to spend $29.00/year to upgrade where I can see the various results that aren’t included without spending the extra money. I haven’t decided if I am ready to do it at this point, but I can always decide to spend the yearly amount at a later point.
