Oxford Ancestors – DNA Saturdays October 10, 2020

This company, Oxford Ancestors https://www.oxfordancestors.com/, is a DNA company, but it doesn’t look at autosomal DNA, only mtDNA and Y-DNA (26 marker test). It comes in handy if you want to look at mtDNA or Y-DNA matches, but it won’t help you connect to close family members. The company is in the United Kingdom (U. K.) and prices will be in GBP. Here’s the price schedule – https://www.oxfordancestors.com/price-schedule. Thought it was a good choice for this week’s DNA Saturdays post. It does offer a Y-DNA test if you have Irish or British patrilineal roots. Here’s the company’s privacy policy – https://www.oxfordancestors.com/privacy-policy. If your matrilineal roots are in Ireland or Britain, worth checking out. There is a discount if you order the mtDNA and Y-DNA tests at the same time.

I haven’t tested with the company, but it’s on my Bucket List when I get the spare money. It will be interesting to see how the Y-DNA and mtDNA results compare to tests I have taken at other companies. The results probably won’t be as deep, but it would be nice to see the Y-DNA results as my patrilineal line is from the British Isles. They offer books on their website that are DNA related.
