I also had to install the latest Windows update which helped some, but something else is going on. I removed a program that was a heavy drain on connecting to the Internet. This helped a bit, but not much. I ran several diagnostic and anti-malware/spyware programs that revealed nothing was going on in those areas.
I noticed last night my favorite Internet cafe Wi-Fi was responding a lot more slower than normal. That’s true on the one phone I access using the Wi-Fi. I am careful on using the Internet because too much use can get me banned. That’s one thing I noticed about free Wi-Fi at restaurants and fast food places; it tends to have limits. I am hoping it’s a temporary thing as I ran CCleaner, restarted my computer after a full shutdown, and it hasn’t done much to improve speed.
It doesn’t help when I re-blog about half the time, it creates a blank post instead of the re-blog post. This started after they added the new editor as it wasn’t an issue earlier. I may pull an older laptop out of storage and see if it works any better than this laptop. I haven’t used it much since getting this used laptop.
If Congress gets its act together and passes a second stimulus check, I plan on using part of the money to get a replacement laptop as this one I acquired almost two years ago. A few months ago I tried to buy a mobile hotspot, but the cell phone company was out of the mobile hotspots and it didn’t look like they were ordering replacements. I tried another cell phone company today and it’s out of stock on the reasonably priced hotspots.
