I appreciate her almost yearly posts on this topic.
The point missed by most people is just because you have people from a country doesn’t mean those ancestors were ethnically from that country. I have a growing amount of British, but like the rest of Europe, the U. K. was invaded by pretty much every European ethnic group over the last 6,000+ years. Sometimes the invasions were peaceful, but other times they weren’t.
Another point missed is you may inherit DNA from your parents in predictable amounts, it doesn’t mean you will inherit the ethnic amounts in the same predictable amounts. I have seen people who tested and the differences in sibling ethnic percentages were substantial.
