Four Kansas Cities in Competition for Space Command HQ – Kansas Tuesdays September 8, 2020

Slightly different take on this week’s Kansas Tuesdays post. There are four Kansas cities – Wichita, Derby, Kansas City, and Leavenworth that made it to the next round for being considered as the site for the Space Command HQhttps://apnews.com/896b6e26142af3e11af5db9d9ed34ae6. I don’t know how many cities are still in the running.

Here are the requirements to apply: https://www.defensenews.com/space/2020/05/15/want-to-be-space-commands-new-home-heres-the-criteria/.

There were 26 states that submitted proposals. It’s expected a winner will be announced later this year. It may take up to 6 years to build the HQ and the winning city will probably donate the land for the HQ.
