Other WordPress Quirks – September 4, 2020

When I went to view a post, there was some messed up screen that said I had 1818 unmoderated comments and 15 million views. As cool as that sounds, I rarely get anywhere near that many comments in a month and I have yet to hit 73K views total since I started my blog. Turns out I had 18 comments to approve. I was happy because 1818 comments would take a while to approve. I don’t know what caused the glitches.

Another glitch that happens somewhere between 1/3 to 1/2 the time is when I hit see posts it takes me the WP-Admin Post section and not to the Posts tab under the Site tab. It doesn’t matter if I am updating a post, adding more information to a scheduled post, or simply looking at an old post.

In a new quirk today, I had a Comment that wasn’t showing in my Notifications section. I only noticed it because I saw it in my e-mail. I was able to find it in the Comments tab under Pending. I am used to checking the Spam folder although it’s rare I have any. However, I do get some non-Spam thrown in the Spam folder. I would think that if I had approved comments from a blogger previously, maybe the filter shouldn’t chuck them in the Spam folder. I do the same folder in my e-mail folder as I have filters that should put certain e-mails in specific folders, but for some reason, they get tagged as Spam.
