I used to have Microsoft Word on my laptop as well as Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. I made the wise decision to pay extra for the DVD copy. Sometime in the last year, Windows had to do a reinstall. I went looking for the link on the Microsoft website to reinstall Microsoft Office. It had expired. However, I was able to find the Office DVD and reinstall it. That didn’t last long as a month or so later, Windows had to do another reinstall. I distinctly remember putting the Office DVD someplace where I was confident I would remember where it was. Bad mistake. Went looking for as the second reinstall also erased Office after the reinstall.
I still haven’t found the Office DVD. I know it’s somewhere in my place, but not where I thought it would be. Easy solution was to simply install LibreOffice, a free program similar in many ways to Microsoft Office. I figure one day the Office DVD will pop up again.
In my earlier re-blog post, Renard made some good points although some of the points were in the comments section – https://renardsworld.wordpress.com/2020/08/20/the-block-editor-is-getting-lots-of-hate/. One suggestion he made in a commen was to use a word processing program to get around some of the problems the new editor is causing. I did that with my FindMyPast Fridays I am scheduling for in the morning. It was nice to see FindMyPast finally post a post today in my time zone instead of tomorrow. I still need to watch some informative videos on the new editor to make sure I am not missing something simple.
