Twitter ‘rate limit’ messages are due to an error, not your bad tweets – Engadget Weirdness Wednesdays August 5, 2020

I saw this on Engadget – Twitter ‘rate limit’ messages are due to an error, not your bad tweets – Engadget: https://www.engadget.com/twitter-rate-limit-exceeded-002326145.html.

Thought this was an unusual Weirdness Wednesdays choice for this week. I don’t use any of the apps or other systems to tweet. I don’t tweet much, other than those tweeted when I post. Hopefully, it will be fixed soon for those experiencing problems.

The service is having an internal backend problem.

If you’re one of the many people seeing some weirdness with Twitter.com, the apps or Tweetdeck right now, it’s not just you. We’ve seen those “rate limit exceeded” messages too, and contacted Twitter to find out what’s going on. A Twitter spokesperson tells Engadget that “We’re aware of this issue and are working to fix it. The issue was caused by an internal backend system problem.”
