Self-Forgiveness Two Views – Forgiveness Sundays July 19, 2020

There seem to be two views on self-forgiveness. One side is against self-forgiveness; the other side is for self-forgiveness. The side against self-forgiveness often takes the view that only God can forgive someone. Yet, the Bible makes it clear we are to forgive people.

My view is self-forgiveness – it is not about taking God’s place and forgiving oneself. It’s recognizing that I make many mistakes a day and asking God to forgive me, but also realizing I need to forgive myself.
