There are a number of YouTubers who use affiliate links claiming you can get two (2) free stocks from Webull. By my definition free means free. It doesn’t mean I have to deposit $100 into a Webull account to get these “free” stocks. Plus, none of the financial planners make it very clear these are affiliate links. The value of one of the stocks may be up to $1,400 although I don’t see any indication the odds of getting a stock valued at $1,400.
It’s worth noting none of the YouTubers I see are actually financial planners; they may be exceptions as I didn’t check every financial planner YouTuber who makes this “free” Webull offer. The YouTubers I checked out appear to be involved in real estate, stock market, or similar related fields. The Webull promo ends June 30, 2020.
I did some digging and here’s what I see on the Webull site: https://www.webull.com/activity. If you sign up directly with Webull, you get one free stock without having to deposit $100, value between $2.50 and $250. This doesn’t appear to be an option if you use one of the affiliate links from the YouTubers although I haven’t tried to verify as I don’t plan on depositing $100 into a Webull account. I may one day just to see how close to $12 or $1,400 the stock value turns out to be. I am sure at least a small percentage of the stocks will fall in the $1,000 – $1,400 range, but I don’t think most will fall in that range. That’s not to say a free stock valued at $12 – $50 when Webull provides it to you couldn’t make the leap to $1,000+ at some point.
