Please Be Careful Announcing Your Travel Plans on Social Media – June 22, 2020

As a follow-up to this post Safe Travels for Those on the Road for Summer Trips Or Other Vacations – June 21, 2020I want to encourage people to avoid advertising trip plans on social media. I house and dog sat for friends who celebrated their wedding anniversary. That’s the safe way to do it.

I have other friends who have no problem sharing on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites when they go on vacation. I can follow their trips by watching the Facebook posts of where they are at. If that’s not bad enough, their parents, siblings, and others enjoy sharing how long they are staying. I would offer to house sit for them, but I sense it would be ignored.

Personally, I would have someone check on my place while I’m gone. Hopefully, they haven’t ordered Amazon although I believe they do some kind of monthly subscription. Not sure when it gets delivered. I believe it’s normally delivered after they get back.

Just some food for thought as people often share TMI on social media. I have been accused of not sharing enough information on social media, and I’m okay with not sharing more.
