Weirdness Wednesdays Part II – May 14, 2020

Yesterday, I posted my weekly Weirdness Wednesdays post – Weird Week So Far – Weirdness Wednesdays May 13, 2020. In the post, I said:

Going to be interesting to see if the week continues to be weird.

Yes, I know today’s not Wednesday, but the weirdness continued today. I was busy watching YouTube videos on Captured In Providence which meant I was about an hour and half late heading out to my favorite Internet cafe. That’s usually not a big deal or results in weirdness stuff.  In my case, weirdness tends to be uncommon, but once a streak starts, it can last a couple of days to a week. The day’s half over, but will there be more weirdness today or tomorrow?

As I headed out, the first part of the journey was uneventful. Partway into the trip, I heard multiple sirens close by. I ride on the sidewalk for the most part as it’s safer, but the local Police Department SUVs tend to get a lot closer to my bike than the law allows. Next thing I know, I see a shirtless guy running towards me followed by two police SUVs. I immediately get out of the way as I don’t want to risk becoming a hostage or accidentally shot by either the fleeing individual or an officer who might shoot the individual and I get shot as the bullet passes through the individual. They apprehended the guy and I chose to take a slightly different route to get where I was going.
