I talked about LivingDNA not offering reasonably priced upgrades – Some Unwise Business Practices by DNA Companies – April 9, 2020 not too long ago. I relied on an e-mail where I asked the company and was told I needed to buy a new test if I wanted an upgrade. Yesterday, I got an e-mail from LivingDNA about an upgrade. When I checked out the upgrade price, $39.00, regular price $129, sale price for a new kit $79.00; this is only for health/nutrition related stuff. I don’t know if the upgrade price will stay once the DNA Day Sale ends. It’s the only upgrade kit offered when I clicked on available upgrades. It doesn’t include an ethnicity/ancestry upgrade. The full Ancestry/Ethnicity/Health/Nutrition kit is on sale for $99.00, regular price $179.00 and includes the $39.00 upgrade health offering. For a full Ancestry/Ethnicity kit, it’s on sale for $69.00, regular price $99.00. It would be nice if they offered the Ancestry/Ethnicity/Health/Nutrition kit as an upgrade. As it now, I won’t spend the $39.00 for a partial upgrade as I would need to do a full upgrade later at whatever price it’s going for at the time.
Glad to see they are offering a partial upgrade for a reasonable price, but would like the option to do a full upgrade at a similar discount. I e-mailed them a suggestion. I would be pleasantly surprised if they do offer a full upgrade as an option.
