New WordPress My Home Page – March 5, 2020

When I logged in on my laptop this morning, I did not notice the new My Home page on WordPress. I typically go to MySites tab when I first log into WordPress. This morning the first side tab was Stats, which is what it has been for a long time. I checked the WordPress app on my phone and it hasn’t updated to My Home yet. I checked and there is no update for the WordPress app. It has updated when I use my browser to access WordPress.

Here’s a screenshot from my laptop.

My Home Page

I haven’t played with it much yet. I don’t see any bloggers I follow posting about it yet as of an hour ago. I tried the customize tool and it did not load. It loaded a few minutes later. Many of the choices take you directly to the appropriate side tab. One new thing is showing the weekly stats (views and visitors) on the right side. On the Stats page, the default is still daily stats.

Should be fun to see how this turns out. I noticed a day or so ago WordPress went from 35% of the Internet to 36% of the Internet. As I always have to log into WordPress due to cleaning cookies when I shut down my browser, I notice the percentage of the Internet dominated by WordPress as the log-in page shows it in big . Last year it was around 33% about this time, later going to 34% later in the year. I don’t remember when it went to 35%, probably towards the end of the year or maybe early 2020.
