Don’t have any babies or toddlers, but remember when my daughter was young and how as she got older, making sure she couldn’t get into potentially dangerous things became a higher priority.

The first year was the hardest as Karrlita was on an apnea monitor and had to take breathing medicine due to being 6 weeks premature. In terms of child proofing, it was easy as the monitor weighed more than she did and it was on her 24/7 even when we were awake.

The doctor told us she would be slow and we should treat her that way. I was polite in my response, and said if that happens, we would cross that bridge then. I didn’t know if was going to be slow, but I knew treating her that way wasn’t healthy for her. She was taking college courses in high school.
