Genealogical DNA Testing Companies and Current DNA Sales February 20, 2020

Over 1,500 words. If you are interested in a specific company, scroll down to it and see its current price.

Updated February 27, 2020 – removed Sticky as new post going up soon.

As always, check prices before you order! You can also check EBay and Amazon in case you find a lower price there, but make sure it’s for the same company and test. Some of the companies show an end date for their sale prices, but many don’t. Amazon loves to raise and lower prices on DNA tests on a somewhat regular basis, usually every few days for some of the major companies, bit less often for other companies. For EBay and Amazon purchases, always activate the test as soon as you get it to avoid problems.

Sale updates Most sales have ended. Sequencing.com still has the $49 kit on sale. Dante Labs has a sale going on; it’s a two-parter – one for everybody and one for those who have a Rare Disease. If you have a Rare Disease as defined by the federal government, the sale is a much better deal, but you will need to let them know which disease it is (not all Rare Disease listings on one of the federal websites are Rare Diseases – check to see if it says Not a rare disease next to it). AncestryDNA has a sale where the first kit is $99 and additional kits in the same order are $89. I checked each link below this afternoon. Still monitoring daily the sites below, but will only post an update if there are major changes; don’t expect to update any time soon unless a major price increase or decrease happens.

The next major sale will be around DNA Day (April). Some companies may do intermittent sales after their current sales end, between now and DNA Day. Update to the last post Genealogical DNA Testing Companies and Current DNA Sales February 16, 2020. As of today, WeGene has not started selling $99.00 DNA kits. I check every few days since at some point I expect to see them offering this price.
