LivingDNA Kit Update #5 – January 28, 2020

I had not checked LivingDNA in a few days. It was still showing as Genotyping about 3 – 4 days ago. As of earlier today, it’s back to Testing. I am not sure what that means. Does it mean they are re-testing my DNA, or running a second set of DNA tests.

In most cases, it takes 3 – 4 weeks or longer for the sequencing to complete at labs; the sequencing started January 17, 2020 so . The exceptions tend to be if a DNA sample falls a quality review, they need to run the DNA a second time, or if the lab is running at, close to maximum, or above maximum capacity. With all the sales that were going on last month and this month from LivingDNA, FindMyPastDNA, and Sequencing.com, I won’t be surprised if it takes longer. Both FindMyPastDNA and Sequencing.com use LivingDNA kits and labs.

Last update was LivingDNA Kit Update #4 – January 17, 2020. They started Genotyping on January 17, 2020. That puts completion around February 7 – 14, 2020 at the earliest if problems don’t arise with the processing or there are too many kits ahead of mine which would slow mine down.
