Happy 105th Birthday U. S. Coast Guard. In memory of my uncle who retired from the Coast Guard many years ago and those who have served or are currently serving in the Coast Guard.
In a way, the Coast Guard has two birthdays – January 28, 1915 – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Coast_Guard when the Coast Guard was formed –
The modern Coast Guard was formed by a merger of the U.S. Revenue Cutter Service and the U.S. Life-Saving Service on 28 January 1915, under the U.S. Department of the Treasury. In 1939, the U.S. Lighthouse Service was also merged into the Coast Guard. As one of the country’s five armed services, the Coast Guard has been involved in every U.S. war from 1790 to the Iraq War and the War in Afghanistan.[10][11]
and August 4, 1790 for the original Revenue Marine Service / U. S. Revenue Cutter Service – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Revenue_Cutter_Service that later became the Coast Guard.
Wow didn’t know when the Coast Guard’s birthday was before!

It has several birthdays depending on when you consider it starting. I went with the above date as that’s what I saw during my research when it was renamed after the merger of the U. S. Revenue Cutter Service and the United States Life-Saving Service. If you go with the original Revenue-Marine, then August 4, 1790.
I have a list I am working on that would include birthdays of the various Uniformed Services, but also groups like the SeaBees and other sub-units.

It’s slow going as I am looking for not only the 8 Uniformed Service birthdays, but also for some of sub-units, like the SeaBees.
