Two New Bundle of Holding Offers – Rifts Minion War and Rifts Essentials January 7, 2020

Over 1,100 words, but you can click on the first two links to get a shorter synopsis for each bundle.

I missed this e-mail yesterday from Bundle of HoldingRifts Minion War – Rifts Minion War and Rifts Essentials – Rifts Essentials. I noticed it when I checked Bundle of Holding today. I checked the website early enough yesterday the bundles had not been added yet. The bundles run through January 27, 2020.

As a reminder if you previously purchased the Rifts Essentials bundle, you may qualify for a free update without purchasing a new bundle.  It’s something Bundle of Holding offers for revivals. They mark Bundles as revivals since some new bundles are not revivals. I believe Fate5New Bundle of Holding – Fate5 – November 5, 2019 was not a revival as it offered additional genres than the earlier four Fate bundles . In my case, I generally purchase the Bonus Collection as opposed to the Starter Collection. It’s happened a couple of times where I received free updates when they revived earlier bundles. It’s best to order as soon as you find out about a bundle as the price increases as more people buy bundles.

Through MONDAY, JANUARY 27 the forces of Hades and Dyval invade Rifts Earth in the new Rifts Minion War — and if you missed it, get the revived July 2017 Rifts Essentials.

We’re extending our two Campaign Cartographer offers to Monday, January 13. ProFantasy Software, the publisher of all the programs in these two offers, kindly allowed us to extend the deadline to help bridge a gap. (We had somehow scheduled our December offers so they all ended together. Then we realized: Wait, all our offers are ending!) So you have a newly extended chance to get these two offers of Windows mapping programs and style packs that let you rapidly create beautiful maps for campaigns, games, and real-world applications, for private and commercial use.

1. Campaign Cartographer [from April 2018]

2. City Designer [all-new]

Through Monday, January 27 we present the new Rifts® Minion War Bundle with its epic five-supplement chronicle of cross-dimensional demonic annihilation across Rifts Earth and the Palladium Books Megaverse. And we’ve also revived (for a third time) the July 2017 Rifts Essentials Bundle with the core rulebook and major supplements for Kevin Siembieda‘s Rifts RPG.

1. Rifts Minion War [new]

The demons of Hades plan dimensional conquest of their arch-rivals in the Hell known as Dyval. After an incursion into the superheroic setting of Palladium’s Heroes Unlimited RPG, the Minion War spills onto Rifts Earth, and the epicenter of the invasion is North America. Hellspawned armies by the tens of thousands cross the dimensional divide, unleashing plagues, seeking out magic artifacts, and building Hell Pits so they can unleash Hell on battleground Earth.

Unusually in Palladium history, the Minion War line supports many of the company’s game lines. The supplement sequence ultimately lets Rifts player groups create mixed parties of characters who would otherwise be ideologically opposed, but are now fighting side-by-side for the greater good. For the first time in history, the Coalition States, Northern Gun, the Manistique Imperium, Lazlo, New Lazlo, the Cyber-Knights, Lemurians, Free Quebec, D-Bees, mages, and many others stand together against a common enemy. Meanwhile, the Splugorth of Atlantis, Archie Three, and the Vanguard engage in their own shadow war against the invading demon hordes — and each other.

For just US$14.95 you get this new offer’s Starter Collection with DRM-free .PDF ebooks of the complete five-supplement Minion War sequence (retail value $66.50), including Hades, Pits of Hell and Dyval, Hell Unleashed (plus the Hades & Dyval Map Pack); Dimensional Outbreak (previously presented in the April 2019 Phase World Bundle); Armageddon Unlimited (previously in the February 2018 Heroes Unlimited Bundle); and the climax of the sequence, Megaverse in Flames.

And if you pay more than this offer’s threshold (average) price, which is set at $24.95 to start, you’ll level up and also get this offer’s entire Bonus Collection with six more titles worth an additional $63.50, including the popular Rifts Conversion Book One (Revised) and Conversion Book Two: Pantheons of the Megaverse; the first Dimension Book, Wormwood; the Coalition States character sourcebook Heroes of Humanity, and two more sourcebooks repeated from the Phase World offer, Heroes of the Megaverse and Naruni Wave 2.

2. Rifts Essentials [from July 2017]

In case you missed its three previous runs, we’re also reviving the July 2017 Rifts Essentials Bundle, featuring the reality-bending setting of a shattered Earth that forms the primary backdrop for the Minion War.

Rifts is set centuries in the future. Magic energy has flooded back to Earth, fracturing space, tearing through reality, and opening doors to supernatural realms, strange dimensions, and alien worlds. From these portals emerge mythical gods and Elemental creatures, hordes of demons and monsters, dragons and creatures of magic, Shadow Beasts and the undead from dimensions of darkness, and aliens from countless realms.

Earth itself has become an alien landscape where the people, cultures, technologies, and madness of countless alien worlds and realities collide with our own. It is an environment simultaneously familiar and alien, wondrous and horrifying. The magical, supernatural, and alien may come to you, or you may find them. Technology and science co-exist and clash with magic and psychic power. Robot warriors and power-armored troops battle dragons, demons, and magicians. The setting is one of constant change, conflict, horror, wonderment, magic, and endless possibilities.

This Essentials offer has the core rulebook and key basic supplements — everything you need to start adventuring across the rift-ravaged Earth. If you’re new to Rifts, start here. This offer’s Starter Collection includes the complete 384-page Rifts Ultimate Edition™, the Rifts Primer, and the very popular Sourcebook One™ — a $33.50 retail value for just $8.95.

And if you pay more than this Essentials offer’s threshold price ($19.95 to start), you’ll also receive this offer’s entire Bonus Collection with three more supplements worth an additional $45.50, including the Game Master Guide equipment collection, the Book of Magic,™ and the Game Master Kit with useful play aids and pregenerated characters.

Ten percent of each payment for these two Rifts offers (after gateway fees) goes to the charity designated by Palladium Books, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The Hell Pit gapes, so get these two Rifts offers before they both fall in Monday, January 27.

In last week’s announcement with the 2019 Bundle Year in Review article from the official Beyond the Bundle blog, we mentioned our September Savage Battlefield offer that benefited Battlefield Press owner Jonathan Thompson after a burglar plundered his house and then set fire to it. Jonathan sent a status report: “We are not back home yet, and the insurance company is taking its own sweet time with our payout. We have enough to operate through the end of January, thanks to the awesome people of this community. Hopefully things will have worked out by then, and if not I’ll figure something out.”

(And apologies to Jonathan Thompson for giving his name as “Walton” in the email announcement.)
