This is an update to my earlier post about Sequencing.com $49 DNA sale – More Information About Sequencing.com $49 Sale – December 21, 2019. Shipping fee is $10. Still no word on when it ends, but probably sometime in the next 24 hours, possibly a day or two longer.
The site is down for maintenance which is not the best time to keep the sale going. In addition, they are offering a New Year’s Sale: 3 Free DNA Analysis Apps and 20% off most other Apps with code: 2020. The 20% discount does not apply to the $49 sale. If the Sequencing site comes back up before the sale ends, I will be ordering it. If not, I will not order it.
It looks like the current price for this test is still $49 and still requires you sign up for three (3) months minimum with the Silver, Gold, or Platinum Plan. For now, the plans are 50% off – no word on how long the 50% lasts; you get an additional discount if you go the annual route instead of the monthly route. They start charging you the monthly or annual price once they get results from LivingDNA.
Here’s the monthly route prices, slightly higher than the annual plan prices:
On sale $11.99/month, regular price $23.98/month; 2 free apps/month
On sale $34.99/month, regular price $69.98; 4 free apps/month
Platinum Plan On sale $59.99/month, regular price $119.98; 6 free apps/month
The below is the price if you go the annual route:
On sale $9.99/month, regular price $19.98/month; annual price – on sale $119.88, regular price $239.76; 2 free apps/month
On sale $29.99/month, regular price $59.98; annual plan on sale $359.88, regular price $719.76; 4 free apps/month
Platinum Plan On sale $49.99/month, regular price $99.98, annual on sale $599.88, regular price $1,199.76; 6 free apps/month.
From my earlier post:
LivingDNA tests over 698,000 SNPs, including over 17,000 X-DNA SNPs. It also tests 22,500 Y-DNA SNPs and 4,700 mtDNA SNPs (out of 16,569 mtDNA SNPs). The test does give you a rough estimate on your Y-DNA (males only) and mtDNA haplogroups. For better resolution, you would need a deeper Y-DNA or mtDNA test from FamilyTree DNA (FTDNA), YSEQ.net, or another company that does deeper Y-DNA and mtDNA tests.
