I won’t list any of the cemeteries, but when I searched using my least favorite search engine, I came across an Atlas Obscura article titled 287 Unusual Cemeteries in the United States, but when I clicked on the link, it says 286 Unusual Cemeteries in the United States – https://www.atlasobscura.com/things-to-do/united-states/cemeteries. I thought this would be a great Tombstone Tuesdays post.
It’s 19 pages long. I am not sure if every state was covered, but most were. I went through each page to get a sense of the various cemeteries. I didn’t count, but most pages had 16 cemetery links; some only had 12. It was pretty fast to go through each page as I didn’t open any of the links. There was a brief description for each entry, usually a sentence.
In most cases, it’s about one or more unusual things in each cemetery. It may be burial of a person, an animal, a monument, or something else. Some are funny, some are sad, and others will make you wonder why.
