Sweet ‘n Saucy Sauce Shoppe, Wichita, Kansas – September 26, 2019

I am including some photos of two items I purchased for friends. I didn’t go for the hottest items although if I thought either friend would have made use of it, I would have purchased it.

I posted about the Sweet ‘n Saucy Sauce Shoppe – https://sweetnsaucywichita.com/ opening a while back – Sweet and Saucy Candy and Soda Sauce Shop, Wichita, Kansas Opened Today June 19, 2019. I also posted about Scoville Heat Units (SHU) for Spicy Foods. On my bicycle, it’s a bit of a ride to Sweet ‘n Saucy. However, today I was only a few miles away and decided to check it out. The lady at the store was very helpful. It has bulk candy, plenty of sugar cane sodas, and “HOT” sauces. By hot, I am not talking hot in a reasonable level, I am talking about hot at an outrageous level.

If you look at the post about SHU above, it has a link to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scoville_scale. I didn’t get a photo, but there were several items that were very hot. In one case, the item claimed 7.1 million SHU which puts Pepper X to shame.

Some of the items brought back memories as I can remember being able to purchase bulk candy when I was young. A small town grocery in northwest Kansas back in the mid-1980s had bulk candy.
