Genealogical DNA Testing Companies and Current DNA Sales September 26, 2019

Over 900 words.

MyHeritageDNA is on sale for $59 through October 1, 2019 – Autumn Sale. That is for the non-Health test.

Except for a small sale on FindMyPastDNA and a good sale on Geno 2.0 Next, the sales are over for a while. MyHeritageDNA has a good price if you order through GroupOn.

I changed the title a bit as this will now include the major genealogical DNA testing companies (23andMe, AncestryDNA, FamilyTree DNA (FTDNA), FindMyPastDNA, LivingDNA, MyHeritageDNA, Geno 2.0 Next until it is no longer available, Helix, and a few others, but will include some other DNA companies that are not considered major genealogical DNA companies). I will still link to the current month’s DNA PricesCurrent September 2019 DNA Prices.

The next major sale will be around Black Friday (November 29, 2019)/Cyber Monday (December 2,  2019). Amazon often has great deals for some of the companies around Black Friday/Cyber Monday. 23andMe is no longer on sale, but many people buy from them so I left it on the list below.

That’s not to say that one or more of the below companies won’t offer the occasional short-term or flash sale between now and then, but don’t expect the prices to get very low during those sales in most cases. Also, many of the companies will do a year-end sale that may or may not have better prices than the Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals.

As always, check prices before you order! You can also check EBay and Amazon in case you find a lower price there, but make sure it’s for the same company and test. Some of the companies show an end date for their sale prices, but many don’t. Amazon loves to raise and lower prices on DNA tests on a somewhat regular basis, usually every few days for some of the major companies, bit less often for other companies. For EBay and Amazon purchases, always activate the test as soon as you get it to avoid problems.
