This should be interesting – Details About The Lord Of The Rings TV Series Revealed – YouTube Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3cRva1WQRI (around 10:58 minutes long).
Note: I will probably not watch the series unless it’s free on Amazon Prime which I don’t expect it will be. Amazon paid a reported $250 million just for the rights to make the series. That’s not counting how much it will likely cost/episode to make. From an article last year, the guess is another $250 million to make and I didn’t see if that was the entire series, or probably only the first season.
I am not a fan of Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies. He made his version of the books and added things that weren’t true to J. R. R. Tolkien‘s works, simply because he decided this was how he wanted it to be. I may lose some Followers or readers, but in my opinion, you don’t mess with classics if you get the rights from the author or the author’s estate. If it’s in the public domain, you have a blank check on what you can do with a classic. However, you may still get backlash if there are enough diehard fans of the classic to make you regret your version.
