How Close Are We to Resurrecting Extinct Species? – YouTube Video

I saw this on YouTube today – How Close Are We to Resurrecting Extinct Species? – YouTube Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qA1_mdiDgyk (about 7:52 minutes long).

At the risk of losing followers and readers, I am going to take the opposite approach, especially for long-dead species. Just because scientists want to do it is a not a good reason to do it. I can see scientists doing it without considering the end result. These days, and for a while now, scientists want to do things just to prove they can do it. They need to consider the consequences. Imagine if those who bought Killer Bees to this side of the world had considered the odds of escape, or worse intentional release although it really would not matter how they got out, were pretty high. Even if some scientists considered the possibility of Killer Bees getting lose, they discounted it.

Will they be able to bring back extinct species? I don’t know, but the need to have a mother will be problematic as there aren’t current mothers for any extinct species out there. Using a host species could bring its own set of problems. For those species that have no natural predators and are predators themselves, that’s not a good thing. Imagine some of the “cute” fluffy little critters from Jurassic Park that are fast and prolific breeders.

This is a case of scientists wanting to be god. The only being I believe who should be doing that is God. If you don’t believe in God, then you shouldn’t want scientists trying to be god. When humans try to play god, it turns out badly.

    • Sadly, I can see some unwise scientists going ahead with the plan. Whether or not the Lord lets them do it successfully, only time will tell. I could see some of them, as they are being eaten by whatever they create, pointing to the success of their plan.

I think things like dinosaurs are extinct for a reason. I don’t want some Jurassic Park scientist proving a point simply to prove the point.
