My uncle and aunt lived in DeFuniak Springs, Florida which is somewhat near to Panama City. They lived there for many years. They died years ago and are buried somewhere in the area although I have yet to find them. We visited them in the early to mid 1970s. Glad to see someone else has good memories of the Florida Panhandle.

I live in the south and I would like to visit the north one day. I heard Destin beaches are really good.

    • It’s been decades since I was in Destin, but back then they were really good. Friends who have been recently have said they love the Destin beaches. I want to hit Gulfport, Florida as I was born in Gulfport, Mississippi.

Also, want to see the other Gulfport in Illinois although why they named it Gulfport is beyond me.

OH my I really need to see Destin. I live in the south so a long drive is not an option. Maybe taking the plane is better. 😉 😉 if by chance I reach Destin I will post a video for sure. 🙂

      • Looking forward to it. I hope to make it that way in a few years just so I can touch base with first cousins I haven’t seen in decades. I live in Wichita, Kansas so flying would be my best bet although I would probably land in Gulfport, Mississippi and drive the couple hours as I want to also visit my “aunt’s” grave in Jackson County, Mississippi as well as my half-aunt’s grave in the Mobile, Alabama area; and hopefully figure out where my uncle’s grave is in the Panama City area.

      • Forgot to mention that my siblings (sister and two brothers) live in the Gulfport area and I haven’t seen them for a long time. Sister was last visited with in 2006 around Memorial Day. Two brothers I haven’t seen since 1998.

In four years, my pension should fully vest which will give me a few hundred dollars more/month.

I am always on the look-out for new blogs to read. I have owned many fish tanks over the years, but other than small aquarium bowls which I used for fish, the large rectangular ones were for hamsters or gerbils. A neighbor down the block has an outdoor Koi pond in their front yard which given the often not so warm winters in Wichita means they probably have a good-sized indoor fish tank or two.

Wow you need to see your siblings soon 🙂 It’s been long overdue my friend. I hope 4 years will be that quick right?I’m soo excited when I talk to someone who owns a fishtank too. It is a challenging hobby but so worth it.

      • It has been long overdue, but my choice was not eat for one month and visit them, or eat.

I hope you like my surprise, technically, it’s two surprises, but I figured you would miss the one from yesterday.

      • No problem. I knew you don’t get online often from some of your other comments.

Yes that’s true. Something is going on lately that’s why I can’t be online more often. But I am trying my best.
