As You Go on Vacations or Trips, Please Don’t Advertise It on Social Media – Public Service Announcement (PSA) Reminder July 31, 2019

Gentle reminder As You Go on Vacations or Trips, Please Don’t Advertise It on Social Media – Public Service Announcement (PSA).

If you are taking vacations or going to be away from home this summer for too long, or any time for that matter, please don’t advertise it on social media. Likewise, if you are visiting family or friends, have them wait until you are back home before posting photos or comments.

I posted the above in early June 2019, but thought it was a good time to post it again as people are often going for their first or last vacation of the summer over the next few weeks.

    • I do the same thing. Last year I was in Kentucky for a week, but anything I did online didn’t reference I was out of town until I was back home. For 10 days, I dogsat on the opposite side of town, but I only mentioned it after I was back home.

Too many of my friends and family have no problem mentioning they are out of town while they are gone. I have a somewhat common name, and it’s pretty easy to find me if I know where to look to narrow it down.

Glad to see Google Maps is adding an Incognito option in the near future.
