NOTE: I am not putting down the woman in the video that WordPress shows on the log-in page. I think it is great they chose her as she is doing well. It shows there is hope for people like me who strive to become successful blogging. I also realize many never, or rarely, log out of WordPress.
I am adding this as humor because of how I titled the post. I have Firefox set to auto-log me out every time I close Firefox. Given the fact I often have 15 – 40+ tabs open in Firefox, I tend to shut down Firefox between 10 – 20 times/day. After shutting it down, I run the free version of CCleaner Freeium Cleaner Program – CCleaner (direct link – https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner) to clear up the junk that Firefox added during the session. It usually takes about 2 – 5 minutes to run. Every time I go to log-in on WordPress, the only video they show is for one blogger and they have been showing this one video for a long time. If I were new to WordPress, I might get the impression that she is the only successful blogger on WordPress. I don’t think that’s the impression WordPress is going for.
From the numerous WordPress bloggers I read or Follow, I know there are a lot of other bloggers they could add. If nothing else, rotate through a number of bloggers or highlight several bloggers every month. Ideally, I would like to see WordPress choose a variety of bloggers from different industries, but also at different levels in their WordPress journey. They could show some new bloggers just starting out with clips on suggestions from WordPress staff and successful bloggers on things to consider. Next, a set of bloggers who have been blogging for several years, again with tips on what to do or not do. Then, have some bloggers who have been blogging longer than a few years. Lastly, have some of the top bloggers willing to share their joys, their pains, their mistakes, their successes.
