Bit of background – It had been my father’s dream to turn a New Mexico ghost town inta tourist attraction. He died before his dream could be realized.

In addition, ice cream is a weakness of mine which helped me choose to re-blog this post.

Prior to yesterday afternoon, I am not sure I had ever heard of Deming, New Mexico. Yet, within hours (7 -8), I had seen the town crop up twice. The blog post above was the second occurrence which happened last night. The first time was in a book that had been donated to Midwest Historical and Genealogical Society – years ago. I was watching somebody scan marriage licenses (nowhere near as exciting as it sounds) and noticed a pile of books. I picked up this book and started thumbing through it, (not an affiliate link). In it, Deming was mentioned several times.
