Update on Halfsies Dice Kickstarter Campaign June 21, 2019

Thought I would give up an update on Humorous Kickstarter Campaign Ending 3:10 P. M. U. S. Central Time June 21, 2019; Kickstarter campaign: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/johnwrot/royalty-halfsies-dice-for-the-rich-and-famous/. It hit the final Stretch Goal with less than half hour to go. It still had about four (4) minutes to go as I started typing this for scheduling. I wasn’t sure if it would hit the last Stretch Goal as it had a ways to go in the last hour; about $200 USD. However, it gained a few new pledges and some upped their pledges to see that it hit the last Stretch Goal.

Final count:

317 backers pledged $12,422.95 to help bring this project to life.

You can see the trend on Kicktraq: https://www.kicktraq.com/projects/johnwrot/royalty-halfsies-dice-for-the-rich-and-famous/.

The original campaign goal was only $1,979 and had a run date of 15 days.

I want to congratulate Gatekeeper Games, https://www.gatekeepergaming.com/, for achieving their goal by a wide margin and hitting all of their Stretch Goals. If you pledged the campaign, shipping fees will be added during the pledge manager phase. That’s a point that some people don’t like it, but it’s often cheaper for the campaign creator in terms of fees if they do it that way. While I don’t know the cost difference, I have seen a number of campaigns mention that’s why they go with doing it through a pledge manager than through Kickstarter.

I saw a lot of things they did right. Starting with humor. It may have been a bit much at times, but for the most part, it was cute enough to overcome being a bit much. I appreciated the Stretch Goals being spelled out. They kept giving regular updates without overdoing it.

It sounds like they will be offering the dice available on their website later. At least some of the dice sets from the earlier Kickstarter campaign are available on the website.
