I found this on MyHeritage earlier this afternoon – Win Tickets to MyHeritage LIVE, Including a Free Stay at the Iconic Hilton Amsterdam: https://blog.myheritage.com/2019/06/win-a-free-stay-at-the-iconic-hilton-amsterdam/.
We’re gearing up for MyHeritage LIVE, our 2nd annual user conference, which is less than three months away! The conference will take place in Amsterdam on September 6–8, 2019. Join hundreds of family history enthusiasts from around the world for a weekend of illuminating genealogy and DNA lectures, as well as hands-on workshops.
Amsterdam is a city steeped in history. Founded in the 13th century as a fishing village, it grew rapidly as a center of trade in the Middle Ages. With a current population of over 800,000, Amsterdam is home to many interesting history and art museums and the Amsterdam City Archives, the largest city archive in the world.
This year’s conference will be held at the Hilton Amsterdam, the hotel where John Lennon and Yoko Ono famously staged a “bed-in” for peace in 1969.
We’re offering one lucky winner the chance to win 2 free tickets to MyHeritage LIVE, plus a one night stay during the conference in the very same hotel room where John Lennon and Yoko Ono stayed in back in 1969.
In March of 1969, a white Rolls Royce drove up to the Hilton Amsterdam and John Lennon and Yoko Ono emerged. After booking suite 702, they proceeded to remove all the furniture from the room except for the bed. Thus began their famous “bed-in” for peace. This year marked the 50th anniversary of their week-long protest.
To enter our competition for a chance to relive one of the most talked about moments of the 20th century, all you have to do is tell us which historical aspect of Amsterdam you’re most excited to explore while attending MyHeritage LIVE 2019. Share your answers in the comments below.
One lucky winner will be chosen at random on June 30, 2019. The winner will receive one night’s accommodation in suite 702 at the Hilton Amsterdam and 2 free conference tickets to MyHeritage LIVE (valued at over € 1500).
