To avoid issues with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), better safe than sorry which is why I did the #ad above.
I am participating in the Great Cycle Challenge (to fight childhood cancer) – https://greatcyclechallenge.com/Pages/About this month (June 2019). I have set a goal of raising $500 in donations and riding my bicycle 120 miles or more during the month. So far, I have ridden 10.7 miles as of this post.
You can view my page at https://greatcyclechallenge.com/Riders/PaulSmith1 (affiliate link) to see how I am doing or if you want to sponsor my effort. I learned about this challenge back in April, probably on Facebook. I decided to join and started tracking my rides at the time to see about how many miles I read in a month. On a low month, it’s around 120 miles with some months hitting 150 or more miles. It may not seem like a lot of miles to some of my friends who easily bike that much in a week, but to me, I believe it’s achievable.
I encourage people to get involved; it’s not limited just to the U. S. – it could be by sponsoring me or someone else, or by riding yourself. If you only have a stationary bike you use at home or at a gym, you can track the time or distance for riding it.
